The Board of Charles County Commissioners voted unanimously to enter into a public-private partnership with Chestertown-based ThinkBig Networks to provide broadband internet service to thousands of homes and businesses in and around Nanjemoy and Cobb Neck by the end of the summer of 2023. The agreement to enter into the
Nanjemoy and Cobb Neck, which will benefit from a $3 million state grant to provide wireless broadband coverage, are also the lowest responding areas in Charles County for the 2020 census, but county officials say that the lack of broadband coverage in both places is only one of the reasons.
Charles County should consider partnering with Chestertown-based ThinkBig Networks to provide broadband internet service to the approximately 2,300 homes and businesses in and around Nanjemoy and Cobb Neck that are not currently being served by either Verizon or Comcast, the Board of Charles County Commissioners heard last week.
